The American Hospital of Paris maternity is a unique, multidisciplinary center offering state-of-the-art equipment and highly competent professionals who are at your service 24 hours a day.
Our small-scale unit means you can give birth safely, surrounded by a team that is both available and attentive to your needs.
The American Hospital of Paris maternity is non conventionnée, meaning it does not apply the French national health insurance fixed fee schedule. In terms of pediatric care, it is classified in France as a “Type 1” maternity. Our maternity delivers high-level maternal care and was specially designed to ensure safety, quality and comfort for mothers-to-be.
Located within a multidisciplinary hospital, it enables direct access to all of the hospital’s patient services, equipment, and diagnostic and testing services, and immediate embolization procedures can be performed if necessary. We also have an adult critical care unit, the ability to perform blood transfusions on site, our own clinical laboratory and a team of interventional radiologists available 24/7 if embolization is required.
To ensure your physical safety and emotional well-being, our team works on the basis of common protocols. Members discuss your case as needed during weekly multidisciplinary staff meetings, and strive to respect your wishes while bearing in mind the cultural differences and rituals of each individual.
The American Hospital of Paris welcomes close to 700 newborns per year in its maternity.
Our team is made up of OB/GYNs, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, midwives, nurses, pediatric nurses, pediatric nurse aides and medical secretaries. Our structure also has units specializing in Reproductive Medicine, Fetal Medicine and pediatrics. This allows us to closely monitor your and your baby’s safety, from the moment you decide to start or expand your family through the early years of your child’s life.
