Specialized ultrasounds
Over the course of your pregnancy, three routine screening ultrasounds will be proposed:
1/ First trimester (between 11 and 13 weeks of pregnancy + 6 days)
2/ Second trimester (between 22 and 24 weeks of pregnancy)
3/ Third trimester (between 32 and 34 of pregnancy)
The Fetal Medicine Unit of the American Hospital of Paris offers testing and diagnostic services based on latest-generation ultrasound equipment, delivered by highly qualified sonographers who perform:
- Routine prenatal screening ultrasounds
- Diagnostic ultrasounds: specialized second-line ultrasounds and 3D and 4D volume ultrasounds
These ultrasound exams are used to look for any fetal abnormalities. If an abnormality is detected, a prenatal consultation with a specialist will be proposed to determine if further exams are needed such as chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis or fetal blood sampling.
